Welcome to
COLOMBIA EN MISSISSAUGA!
After 12 years, the Colombia Festival in Mississauga returns. This time, it will be held at the Port Credit Memorial Park in Mississauga, a beautiful space beside the Credit River and facing Lake Ontario. On July 10, 11, and 12, the park will be transformed into a little corner of Colombia, filled with colors, flavors, and rhythms for the enjoyment of the entire community.
The Colombia en Mississauga Festival is a multicultural platform showcasing the best of Colombia in the south of the city, bringing together families, artists, entrepreneurs, and community partners through music, dance, food, and traditions. The festival invites Colombians, Latinos, Canadians, and communities from around the world of all ages to share an authentic and joyful experience that promotes inclusion, pride, and a strong sense of belonging.
For three exciting days, visitors will enjoy live music, folk dance groups, artisans, singers, a children's area, and savor delicious traditional Colombian food such as empanadas, arepas, lechona, bandeja paisa, carne a la llanera, chicharrón, and other typical Colombian dishes, and of course, the one that can't be missed: Colombian Coffee!

A Brief History of
Cumbia Colombiana
Cumbia is one of Colombia’s most iconic and beloved musical traditions, born on the Caribbean coast through the blending of Indigenous, African, and Spanish cultural influences. Characterized by its rhythmic drums, flutes, and graceful dance movements, cumbia tells the story of Colombia’s diverse cultural heritage. The traditional dance features flowing skirts, elegant steps, and symbolic courtship between dancers, often accompanied by the distinctive sombrero vueltiao. Today, cumbia remains a powerful expression of Colombian identity, celebrated across the country and around the world as a joyful symbol of music, history, and cultural pride.
